This may be the UK’s most South Westerly Golf course, however there are many additional reasons for its uniqueness, primarily its spectacular setting perched high on the Northwest coastline of the largest inhabited island of St. Mary’s. The 9-hole course which is 5942 yards in length and has 18 tees and a par of 73, is a combination of traditional links and gently sloping moorland with heather and gorse, with generous fairways and small greens. The club has a wide range of hire clubs, trolleys, golf buggies and bowls equipment and nurturing a friendly, relaxed and informal atmosphere, is warmly open to everyone, members and non-members alike. The clubhouse bar and bistro is a destination in itself, offering delicious home-cooked food and an outside terrace that affords panoramic views of St. Mary’s, the Western Isles, Bishops Rock in the distance; and is a particularly lovely place to watch the sun set as it dips behind the uninhabited island of Samson.
