  1. Seal Snorkelling
Should you ever have the opportunity to swim with seals in their natural environment, take it! Watching the seals swim gracefully amongst you is a fabulous wildlife experience that will make you feel utterly at one with the ocean. These curious animals will look at you with their puppy-dog eyes and might even try to nibble your fins. Sign up with Scilly Seal Snorkelling for a truly unforgettable, award-winning experience!
  2. Whale Watching on Scilly
Sightings of whales between islands on the Isles of Scilly are extremely rare, but when news broke on Christmas Eve of having spotted some, no one could quite believe it. Let us take you on a journey to explore these magnificent creatures.
  3. Beneath the Waves
Lying 28 miles south west of the Cornish coast, the Isles of Scilly have a unique marine ecosystem, fed by the nutrient-rich water of the open Atlantic. The islands and offshore reefs form a dynamic mosaic that is home to wonderful species of fish, invertebrates and marine mammals. These islands are legendary among divers, who visit to experience the dramatic reef walls, or perhaps to connect with the past by visiting shipwrecks.
  4. Scilly Natives
The Isles of Scilly is home to rare flora and fauna, much of which you’ll be hard pushed to find, let alone see, in other parts of the UK. From the Lesser white-toothed (or Scilly) Shrew and indigenous Scilly bee to rare plant species, including the Least and Lesser adders tongue ferns, Dwarf pansy and Orange birdsfoot – it’s no surprise that the islands draw wildlife professionals, academics and enthusiasts year-round.
  5. Drawn to the seas around Scilly
Wyl Menmuir, award-winning Cornish writer and frequent visitor to the Isles, shares the emotions Scilly envokes whenever he steps foot on our shores.
  6. Tresco Abbey Garden
Many people will know of the Isles of Scilly because of the world famous sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Garden. Described as a perennial Kew without the glass, it shrugs off salt spray and Atlantic gales to host myriad exotic plants, many of which would stand no chance of survival even on the Cornish mainland less than 30 miles away. Even at the winter solstice, there are more than 300 plants in flower. All in all, the tropical garden is home to more than 20,000 species of plants from 80 countries.
  7. An Island Garden
Gardens are an inescapable part of the Isles of Scilly. From colourful hedgerows, lovingly cultivated private gardens and the magnificent Tresco Abbey Garden to the wilder, living garden that blankets the islands year round, they all juxtapose and jostle for the attention they undoubtedly deserve!
