The best way to get around Bryher is on foot. Nothing is too far and it can easily be done in a day, even half if you’re up for a romp or opting for a three-islands in one day trip. With no roads to speak of – and just a concrete road linking the quays to the main island points, much of your walking will be off the beaten track.
Getting to Bryher from the other islands is easy. “Tripper boats” go from St. Mary’s and Tresco every day, usually twice a day; and from St. Martin’s and St. Agnes, about twice a week. Check the noticeboards on the islands or contact the local island boating company.
If you’re staying on Bryher - the inter-island boating is run by Tresco Boat Services. They post their scheduled services online and on the islands’ noticeboards every afternoon for the following day. They visit St. Mary’s every day the Scillonian is sailing and at least one of the other islands most days. And you can also arrange “specials” (boat taxis) outside of the scheduled services for any particular occasion and enjoy scenic boat trips.
